How To Make a Payment Parking Tickets: You must pay or contest your parking ticket within 15 days of the date the ticket was issued. If payment is not received within this time, the ticket will be considered delinquent and late fees will be added. With the addition of late fees, your parking fines will significantly increase over the amount of the original ticket. If the ticket remains unpaid, the following steps will be taken: Fifteen (15) days after the ticket issue date, a penalty of $10 will be added. Forty-five (45) days after the ticket issue date, another $15 penalty will be added. A judgment will be issued by the City of Cleveland if the ticket remains unpaid twenty (20) days after the second delinquency notice. If three or more delinquent tickets are incurred, a BMV registration Hold will be placed on the vehicle. The $5 fee charged by the BMV to place the hold will also be added. Notification may be made to an established Credit Bureau Reporting agency. Registration hold for a handicap violation ticket. The sanctions listed above represent the first steps which will be taken for unresolved parking tickets.
